Umar is a long athletic 6’6” combo guard that can score, rebound & defend.  He plays with a high motor & is will battle in the paint, as well as on the perimeter.

During his Sr. season ('24-25), was part of the highest scoring backcourt in the UAA Conference. He Led the team in Rebounding (8.7) & Blocks (1.7), 2nd in Scoring (15.5), 2nd in Asst (1.8) & 2nd in Steals (1.1).  In League play, he ranked 2nd in Minutes (34.5), 4th in Reb & 4th in Blocks.  He had a total of 42 blocks, moving him into 2nd place all time in school history with 137 career blocks.  During his final 3 years at CWRU, he led the team in blocks every season.  He also set a school record with 9 blocks in a single game.

While at Case Western, Umar was named to the CSC Academic All-District Team for his Athletics & Academic achievements for 3 consecutive years, received the UAA Winter All-Academic Honors, was named to the NABC Honors Court as well as Named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week

Over the course of his 4 years at CWRU, he ranks in the Top 10 All Time for career 3FG Made, Rebounds, Blocked Shots & career Blocked Shots Avg (1.4).
